About the practice

Your first therapy session is a chance to explore your reasons for seeking support. Together, we'll get to know each other, build a foundation of trust, and discuss what it is that you’d like to accomplish in therapy. This initial meeting helps set the tone for your journey, allowing you to share what’s on your mind at your own pace while we work collaboratively to create a tailored approach that fits your needs. Remember, this is your time—there’s no pressure, just understanding and support.

I like to approach therapy with a relaxed, genuine, and conversational tone. I want to make therapy something that my clients look forward to coming back to. To me, humour is an important part of healing and opportunities for laughter in session are encouraged just as much as are the opportunities to cry, be angry, swear, and sit with your thoughts and feelings. My intent is to create an environment where my clients feel comfortable expressing themselves freely and truthfully, supporting them in connecting with the underlying felt emotions that otherwise may be numbed, misunderstood, or expressed in ways that are unproductive or damaging to themselves and their relationships.
I take an integrative approach to support each client in a way that best fits their personal goals in therapy. Pulling from cognitive behavioural, acceptance and commitment, emotion focused therapy approaches, I support clients with experienced depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, grief, substance abuse, stress, and panic, using psychotherapeutic tools in a way that is approachable and personally meaningful to each client.
I hold a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brock University, and a post-graduate diploma in Social Services from Mohawk College. My career experience has included work in the Long Term Care sector, public health, and working with vulnerable populations.
